Hello there! Welcome to Happy 2 Move’s 2nd London roundup! This month we’ll be time travelling to 1924, hooking you up with some free prints for your new pad, getting spiffy with Tweed Run London and asking you whether London is the long-term location for you.
Shard Struck By Lightning
We might have been enjoying some much-deserved spring sunshine this May but, if you prefer your weather with a little extra drama, the recent storms which have rumbled across the city have provided plenty of excitement. Here’s the moment that lightning struck The Shard on Thursday 22nd May 2014…
Time Travel to London, 1924
If you’re more interested in a blast from the past rather than a blast in the present, this month saw the release of Simon Smith’s “Wonderful London” which splices together video from 2014 and 1924, opening a literal window onto London’s past. Thanks to Laura from London Perfect (who offer short term City lets) for bringing this beautiful piece of videography to our attention – follow the team’s Twitter for lots of lovely London news all month round.
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Have you recently moved to London? If yes, we’d love to get your opinion on a story we picked up from aspiring young journalist, Roberta Miller. Bobbie has been in London for two years and loves the local buzz. But, with more and more of her peers moving on to new cities, new countries and new experiences, Bobbie sees London as too expensive to live in long term.
What are your two cents? Do you believe that living in London is a one-time “experience” to have when you’re young? Or can you see yourself settling in the city for good? Let us know what you think and share your opinion with our readers below.
Just Spiffing: Check Out Tweed Run London
Tally ho, London chums! If you’re one of our beautiful city’s brave cyclists and have a penchant for all things vintage, you missed out on a jolly old treat. On May 17th Tweed Run London saw hundreds of dandy and very dapper cyclists take to the streets in positively debonair style. We’ve been seriously enjoying the snaps from Cyclelove.net, taken by the eagle-eyed photographer Yu Fujiwara.
