Summer storage for King's College students
THE CHALLENGE
Three King's College students needed storage for June through September. They were finishing second year in shared halls and heading home for summer, but their third-year house wasn't available until September. Between them, they had bedroom furniture, boxes of belongings, sports equipment, and kitchen items.
OUR SOLUTION
We provided a 100 sq ft unit shared between the three students, collected everything from their halls in early June, and stored it securely through summer. In late September, we delivered to their new house, coordinating delivery with their move-in date.
THE RESULT
The students avoided taking everything home or asking family to store it. The shared unit cost each student around £30 per month, far cheaper than individual storage. Everything was delivered to their new house ready for third year.
How much storage space do I need?
Most students need 25-50 sq ft. A 25 sq ft unit holds 10-15 boxes plus some small furniture items. A 50 sq ft unit fits a bedroom's worth of belongings including bed, desk, and boxes. If you're unsure, describe what you're storing and we'll recommend the right size.
Do you collect from student halls?
Yes, we regularly collect from halls across London. We're familiar with various universities' halls and their access procedures. Some halls require booking in advance for collections - we coordinate this for you.
What if my plans change and I need storage longer?
No problem. Storage is month-to-month, so if you need to extend, just let us know and continue the monthly payments. There's no penalty for extending your storage period.
Can I share a unit with friends to split costs?
Absolutely. Many students share units to reduce costs. We can arrange access for multiple people. Just make sure you trust your storage partners, as you'll all have access to the same unit.
